Defence in Depth
Five Layers of Protection
Modern datacentre security is built in concentric rings: each layer does a different job, each integrated through one platform. We design and deliver to the Axis five-layer framework, with every camera, controller and credential surfacing into a single source of truth.
Thermal cameras, radar-fusion detection and AI object classification at the fence line: long-range warning before anyone reaches the building.
ANPR-based vehicle control, Axis Perimeter Defender and network horn speakers: verifying who and what enters the site.
Door controllers, multi-factor credentials and anti-tailgating analytics covering every entry on the building envelope.
Mantraps, biometric access and aisle-end cameras restricting hot-aisle and cold-aisle access to the people who need to be there.
Cabinet-level access control and intelligent locks: full audit trail down to the individual rack door.
One Platform
Live view, forensic search, access events and alarm verification: every layer surfacing into a single console. Axis Camera Station Secure Entry brings access control onto the same platform as the video stack; Axis Perimeter Defender classifies threats at the edge; and Axis Live Privacy Shield preserves forensic image quality with dynamic masking. Certified to BS EN 62676 and BS EN 60839-11, GDPR-compliant by design.
Our Expertise
Our solutions are designed to work together: one point of accountability across fire, security, critical power and communications, every discipline in-house.
Up to 15× higher sensitivity than point detection. Flair discrimination rejects HVAC-borne dust and urban pollutants: the benchmark ASD for mission-critical halls.
Addressable fire alarm to BS 5839-1 and BS EN 54, with Self-Test detectors launching compliance tests remotely via the Honeywell CLSS cloud platform.
Fogtec watermist suppression for server halls, battery rooms and technical spaces. Tested to BS EN 14972, with LPCB-approved components and designed in line with RISCAuthority guidance.
Axis cameras with AI analytics and Milestone XProtect®, managed through Axis Camera Station Pro. Certified to BS EN 62676 and GDPR-compliant by design.
Kohler, Eaton and Secure Power UPS systems, sized, installed and maintained for the loads that can't afford a single dropout.
Continuous monitoring via Honeywell CLSS for fire detection and Axis Camera Station Pro for video: one engineer, one accountable contractor, full visibility.
Watermist In Action
High-pressure watermist atomised at 60–200 bar: the same fire-control performance as a sprinkler discharge using a fraction of the water, with droplets fine enough to evaporate on hot surfaces rather than soak the equipment.
Classification
Fogtec uses water mist of Class I according to NFPA 750—the smallest droplet-size distribution and the largest reaction surface per litre of water applied. Fogtec systems are of the high-pressure type, working at 50–200 bar. The high pressure provides at the nozzle sufficient energy to split water into the smallest droplets and to accelerate them on their way towards the fire and against rising heat and smoke.
Why High Pressure?
Higher pressure means more energy available to split the water and more momentum imparted to the resulting tiny droplets. Lower the pressure and the droplets are larger, or have less momentum—in most cases both apply.
Independent research has shown that low-pressure water mist systems are less efficient at reducing the heat-release rate of a fire and its emissions, including CO2, CO, NOX, CxHy and HCN.
Pump Systems
Fogtec pump systems generate operating pressures between 120 and 140 bar; lower pressures would yield larger droplets or insufficient momentum to reach the fire (law of energy conservation). Pump units are built from individual pump modules with flow rates from 25 to 1000 l/min, so the overall flow and power can be optimised to each project. Units run electrically or on diesel, include adequate water filtration, and control cabinets equipped with state-of-the-art PLC controls connect to the fire alarm system. Remote maintenance via modem is available as an option.
ESG Aspects
Due to its eco-friendliness, water-saving and protective properties, and the re-usability of major components, Fogtec water mist supports gains in user ESG ratings.
How We Deliver
Datacentre projects demand absolute precision. Our engineers work to strict commissioning protocols with full awareness of the sensitivities of live critical environments.
Every activity captured in a detailed method statement and risk assessment, reviewed with the client's operations team before a single cable is pulled.
Phased installation sequences that keep critical rooms operational throughout delivery, zone by zone, with full BMS coordination.
Full as-built documentation, commissioning records and maintenance logs: the audit-ready records modern compliance actually demands.
Fully accredited engineers: NICEIC for electrical, BAFE for fire, SSAIB for security. ISO 9001:2015 quality management across the business.
Technology Stack
Every discipline on a datacentre project depends on a different specialist technology. We bring them together: one point of accountability, one commissioning plan.
As an Axis Silver Solution Partner, we deliver Axis' full five-layer framework: perimeter, premises, building, server room and server rack. Axis Camera Station Pro anchors live view and forensic search; Axis Perimeter Defender classifies threats at the edge; and Axis Live Privacy Shield preserves forensic image quality with dynamic masking. Certified to BS EN 62676 and GDPR-compliant by design.
Gent Vigilon Plus addressable fire detection with S-Quad multi-sensors, to BS 5839-1 and BS EN 54. Gent Self-Test detectors run the full BS 5839 annual functional test automatically (using real smoke and heat) and report via the Honeywell CLSS cloud platform. BLE-verified engineers swipe through a full site's compliance records without a single in-hall disruption.
The benchmark aspirating smoke detection for mission-critical infrastructure. Up to 15× higher sensitivity than point detection, with Flair discrimination to reject HVAC-borne dust, diesel exhaust and soot, with no trade-off between very early warning and nuisance alarms. Rated for hot-aisle / cold-aisle containment and high-airflow halls.
A true open-platform VMS, a single source of truth across 10,000+ supported devices and 500,000+ installations worldwide. XProtect Corporate holds EuroPriSe GDPR certification; Milestone Care provides lifetime software maintenance. The right platform when you refuse vendor lock-in on a twenty-year asset.
High-pressure watermist for server halls, battery rooms and technical spaces, atomised at 60–200 bar into 50–100 µm droplets that cool and scrub smoke using a fraction of the water of a sprinkler. Tested to BS EN 14972, with LPCB-approved components and designed in line with RISCAuthority guidance; ordinary-hazard coverage up to 12 m ceilings.
Classified as Class I water mist per NFPA 750—the finest droplet distribution available—with nozzle inserts that allow spray pattern, flow rate and droplet distribution to be tuned to the hazard. Open-nozzle deluge systems trigger from the fire alarm; automatic glass-bulb nozzles run wet, pre-action or dry-pipe pressurised configurations.
Unified access control for every door in the facility: smart cards, PINs, mobile credentials and facial recognition, with anti-tailgating and multi-factor layers. Managed from the same Axis Camera Station Pro console as the CCTV, to BS EN 60839-11. SSAIB-certified installation throughout.
