Manufacturing · Industrial Environments
Fire, security and life safety for factories, warehouses and industrial environments, engineered around the risk profile of your process.
What We Do
Industrial environments demand specialist design. High-ceiling warehouse detection, hazardous-area systems, dust-tight installations, racked storage, cold stores: every site has its own risk profile, and every risk profile has its own answer.
Our engineers specify and install around your process, and around the insurer and regulatory requirements that increasingly define what "compliant" means for industrial buildings.
Built Around
Early-warning detection and suppression strategy engineered around your actual risk, not a generic warehouse spec.
Designs engineered to the performance standards UK insurers specify on industrial risk: third-party certified products, documented commissioning, audit-ready records.
Systems designed so testing, maintenance and upgrades don't take the line offline. Minimal disruption, maximum compliance.
Fully documented systems, accessible maintenance records, and audit-ready reports for whoever's asking.
Insurer-Aligned
UK industrial insurers increasingly specify third-party-certified fire protection with documented commissioning and audit-ready records. We design to those performance standards from the start, so there's no retrofit after an insurance review.
Gent Vigilon with Self-Test detectors, S-Quad multi-sensors and Firebeam Xtra Anti-Fog for coverage up to 160 m, to BS 5839-1 and BS EN 54.
High-pressure water mist for conveyor belts, machinery spaces, generators, cable tunnels and flammable-liquid storage. Open nozzles atomise water at 60–200 bar, giving a water-efficient alternative to sprinkler or gaseous suppression on industrial risk. Supported by full-scale fire testing to relevant BS EN 14972 protocols, with LPCB-approved components where applicable, and designed in accordance with RISCAuthority guidance.
ATEX-rated devices, dust-tight enclosures and intrinsically-safe wiring for zoned hazardous environments: flour mills, paint plants, solvent stores and anywhere explosive atmospheres are credible.
Triple-IR and UV/IR flame detectors for high-bay warehousing, fuel handling, generator halls and process areas, with sub-second response to hydrocarbon and Class A fires where smoke detection alone is too slow. Certified to BS EN 54-10 and integrated into the wider fire strategy.
How Fogtec Works
Classification
Fogtec uses water mist of Class I according to NFPA 750—the smallest droplet-size distribution and the largest reaction surface per litre of water applied. Fogtec systems are of the high-pressure type, working at 50–200 bar. The high pressure provides at the nozzle sufficient energy to split water into the smallest droplets and to accelerate them on their way towards the fire and against rising heat and smoke.
Why High Pressure?
Higher pressure means more energy available to split the water and more momentum imparted to the resulting tiny droplets. Lower the pressure and the droplets are larger, or have less momentum—in most cases both apply.
Independent research has shown that low-pressure water mist systems are less efficient at reducing the heat-release rate of a fire and its emissions, including CO2, CO, NOX, CxHy and HCN.
Pump Systems
Fogtec pump systems generate operating pressures between 120 and 140 bar; lower pressures would yield larger droplets or insufficient momentum to reach the fire (law of energy conservation). Pump units are built from individual pump modules with flow rates from 25 to 1000 l/min, so the overall flow and power can be optimised to each project. Units run electrically or on diesel, include adequate water filtration, and control cabinets equipped with state-of-the-art PLC controls connect to the fire alarm system. Remote maintenance via modem is available as an option.
ESG Aspects
Due to its eco-friendliness, water-saving and protective properties, and the re-usability of major components, Fogtec water mist supports gains in user ESG ratings.
Solution Silver Partner
As an Axis Silver Solution Partner, we deploy Axis network cameras on UK industrial sites for far more than perimeter security. Edge analytics bring intrusion protection, health & safety and production monitoring into a single integrated system, managed through Axis Camera Station Pro or Milestone XProtect® VMS, certified to BS EN 62676 and GDPR-compliant by design.
PPE detection (hardhats, fall-safety), slip-and-fall analytics, blocked-exit detection and network intercoms for emergency response.
Axis thermal / isothermal cameras give early detection of overheating machinery, self-igniting materials and fire hotspots well before flame.
Thermal + radar-fusion detection, AI object classification, ANPR for vehicle access control and network horn speakers for audio deterrent.
Visual verification of line processes, production volume analysis, people counting for energy management: camera footage becomes operational data.
Our Approach
Industrial sites reward early engagement: design decisions made around the process save compliance headaches later.
